The Cisco ® ME 3400-24FS AC Ethernet Access Switch is a new member of the Cisco ME 3400 Series of next-generation switches, customer-located equipment especially for triple-play (data, voice, and video) Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN services. The Cisco ME 3400-24FS AC Switch is for service providers that want to offer Ethernet Fiber-To-The-Home (E-FTTH) services. Equipped with 24 100-Mbps Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) interfaces, the Cisco ME 3400-24FS AC supports multiple types of optical modules including FX, SX, and BX. Together with the Cisco Catalyst ® 4500 Series, the Cisco ME 3400-24FS AC offers options for high-density and low-density deployments. The ME 3400-24FS AC supports the same advance software as the rest of Cisco ME 3400 series. With both Ethernet operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning (OAM&P) features for remote monitoring and troubleshooting and the most complete security solution, the ME 3400-24FS AC provides the best solution for E-FTTH deployments. Table 1 provides brief descriptions of the Cisco ME 3400-24FS AC Switch and options.
